Description

The Staff Accountant I will be responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, analyzing trends, creating reports, and explaining variances to help predict future revenues and expenses. This role will offer or make suggestions to management about findings. This role must understand commonly used accounting and financial concepts and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing schedules for month-end accounting close
• Prepares and posts journal entries
• Prepares account reconciliations
• Assist in preparation of certain financial statement support schedules
• Analyze and highlight matters regarding business segment budget vs. actual and month over month variances.
• Assists with compliance reviews of internal controls and / or company policies
• Assist in quarterly and year-end audits
• Assists with routine and ad hoc reporting accompanied by the required supporting documentation for management

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA and/or Master’s a plus.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 0+ years of experience in general ledger accounting
• Large ERP systems experience preferably SAP. Experience with Blackline desired.
• Ability to work under general supervision and rely on experience and judgment to perform tasks to accomplish goals
• Requires understanding of commonly used accounting and financial concepts and procedures
• Strong commitment to leadership and integrity required
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
• Strong reconciliation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work with deadlines
