Natural Stone Yard Helper
Duties and responsibilities
This position performs a variety of functions that includes customer service, receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse and stone yard.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drive and operate a forklift
- Remove shipped materials from delivery vehicles to the designated area
- Examine receiving documents for accuracy with attention to detail
- Pull materials for orders and prepare orders for shipment
- Maintain organized, safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, stone yard pallet area, and workstations clear of hazards
- Use proper safety equipment and procedures
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service when pulling and loading retail and contractor orders
- Maintain outdoor showroom, to include daily leaf blowing, minor cleaning and repairs, water plants, reset samples
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able operate forklift (certification can be completed after hire)
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects in excess of 50 pounds
- Must be able to work independently and as a team
- Basic math skills required (ex.: addition, subtraction, understand pounds, tons, square feet)
- 1-2 years previous warehouse experience helpful, tile natural stone experience a plus
- Inventory experience a plus
- Good communication skills
- Good Customer Service skills a must
- Dependable and reliable
- Detail oriented
