Job Description


MKTG Sports + Entertainment is looking for a Senior Manager, Insights and Strategy to join our fast-growing Creative Strategy team. This is a vital role that will serve as a hybrid between data analytics and data storytelling.

This role will help lead MKTG’s efforts to drive greater insight for our biggest clients across industries (automotive, banking, F&B, etc.) into the fans they engage through sponsorships (NBA, NFL, Olympics, NWSL, Music, Racing, etc.)

We are looking for someone who is a natural researcher, knowledgeable about culture, and gets excited by leveraging data to create a compelling story. You must be comfortable balancing the research behind the scenes, be a credible C-level presenter in new business pursuits, and have great instincts for design & data visualization. We are a small & rapidly developing Creative Strategy team of people passionate about giving our clients informed & innovative solutions. Agency experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Creative Strategy Director to transform insights into purposeful storytelling, ideate creative ways to engage target audiences, and develop actionable activation strategies for clients across multiple marketing channels (i.e activation, social, media, etc.)
  • Leverage data resources & desktop research to regularly contribute provocative and unexpected insights that can only be found through an integrated data perspective, and present to internal teams
  • Understand the key trends that drive audience behavior and affect the way that brands communicate – always living at the intersection of brands, culture, and creativity
  • Collaborate with our data and analytics team to translate business questions into research and analytical plans, utilizing the most appropriate methodology to yield the most relevant and actionable insights
  • Develop thought leadership grounded in insights & research to share with internal teams, clients, and be published to external marketing channels

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of strategy and marketing experience (agency preferred) with the below attributes
  • Strong communication, creative writing, and presentation skills with ability to link insights to strategy and translate complex ideas into simple and intuitive communications
  • Ability to synthesize data drawn from both quantitative and qualitative methods, and use both approaches to formulate hunches, validate hypotheses, and produce high quality, unique insights
  • Developed leadership skills and a history of partnering with senior clients to achieve business and marketing goals
  • Must have a passion for understanding cultural shifts & patterns, enjoy diving into niche sub-cultures, and have personal interest beyond sports
  • Able to fly at multiple altitudes, excelling at high-level conceptual strategy work and the nitty-gritty of strategic implementation
  • Desire to grow in a fast pace working environment

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80 - 95K. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
