Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking for a Utility Driver. A Utility Driver under the direction of the Manager of Transportation Services, provides transportation and backup support to all departments utilizing company vehicles.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive in a safe and timely manner the PACE paratransit vehicles between participants’ homes, PACE Center, and various locations across communities. Aids and secures participants in vehicles in accordance to PACE standards. Follows daily schedules for transporting patients or materials on mapping, routing, and scheduling platforms.
  • Operate Supply Chain Services box trucks to deliver materials and equipment to the various locations that we serve. Will be trained and scheduled with a route to ensure that all deliveries of equipment and materials are completed in a safe and timely manner. Operation of liftgate experience required.
  • Provide support to Mental Health Mobile Counseling Centers which require delivery of motor homes or similar equipment to specified locations in the community, including set up and break down procedures and working cooperatively with the practitioners and PSR’s.
    • May provide support with registering patients and screening for eligibility for financial assistance programs; enters basic patient data into computer system accurately (“Demographics” updated when appropriate and updates any address/phone # changes); collects specified co-pays and service fees payments and is responsible for assigned petty cash bag.
  • Provide support to clinical staff throughout the organization to shuttle to and from remote parking locations, as needed.
  • Daily schedule will vary depending on the priority of needs throughout the organization and will be set daily by the transportation department. The ability to be flexible is required.
  • Conduct a daily safety inspection of the vehicle to be driven; inspect the interior, exterior, brakes, headlamps, taillights, and report mechanical malfunctions or other problems as required.
  • Responsible for daily vehicle cleaning, ensuring routine fueling, checking oil and fluid levels, cleaning windshield and headlamps, and maintaining mobile vehicles in clean and safe operating condition.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards, i.e., vehicle logs and entering patient data into different platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
  • Current American Heart Association Heart saver CPR AED Certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Meet organizational driving requirements.
  • Must successfully be enrolled in the DMV pull program and meet organizational driving requirements prior to start date.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
