Salary

Salary Range: $52,000- $56,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week

Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions

Function: To lead a complex administrative function of a college, department or major program with multiple reporting areas.

Scope: Responsible for the management of personnel, facilities and administrative matters and assisting executive level staff with administrative management of multiple reporting areas.

Typical:
  • Reports to the Graduate Advisor of Record (GAR) to provide academic support to the graduate programs, and handle procedural matter's related to graduate students in various degree programs
  • Manages all administrative aspects of the Ph.D. and Master's programs, with involvement from the time an application is submitted until the student graduates.
  • Tracks student's progress, maintains files for graduate applicants and students and for communicating reports to the department of graduate school.
  • Responds to student's questions about applications and logistics of milestone achievements for students in the program.
  • Manages and coordinates activities of recruitment, admissions and student registration.
  • Consults with faculty and college leadership on graduate curriculum and academic matters.
  • Oversees community outreach and recruitment programs.
  • Assist GARs with strategic planning to expand the graduate programs.
  • Conducts research and data collection for annual reports and program assessment.
  • Assist students with graduate fellowship applications and liaison with RSC.
  • Facilitate a program of professional development for graduate students within the program.
  • Coordinates and supports training program grant submission and implementation.
  • Responsible for textbook adoptions and scholarship documentation.



Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and six years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience. Additional education or experience may substitute for experience/education on a one year for one year basis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently and with program staff; ability to compile data and prepare routine reports
  • Work under time constraints; proven teamwork experience; ability to explain information in an understandable manner; sound judgment and decision making ability.
  • Personal computer, Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment.
  • Experience with student recruitment and enrollment management
  • Examine, evaluate and re-design administrative operational procedures
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborative in a demanding and complex work environment
  • Experience with graduate fellowship applications
  • Criminal Background Check (CBC).



Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management from an accredited institution.
  • Similar experience in administrative management.



Working Conditions

Working Conditions:
  • Usual office environment.
  • Occasional night and/or weekend work.

The primary work location for this position will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
