MUST HAVES
- 3-5 years analytical lab experience
- Accurately records test results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and SAP
- Complies with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week as well as overtime as required by the business
- Performs analytical tests for finished goods, intermediates, and other samples per specified test methods (wet bench chemistry and analytical instrumentation)
- Responsible for analytical instrument maintenance and calibration
- Utilizes analytical instruments, including but not limited to, pH meter, moisture balance, colorimeter,rheometer, density meter, Karl Fischer, and dissolution rig
NICE TO HAVES
- Prior analytical experience in a regulated (FDA, Health Canada, etc.) manufacturing environment
Description
- The Analytical Chemist Associate performs physical, chemical or bioanalytical characterization of finished product or raw material test samples.
- Associate applies various chemistry techniques and scientific methods to characterize test materials to enable client experimental objectives.
- Technical deliverables include, but are not limited to: basic bench chemistry techniques (including pH, viscosity and particle size), sample preparation, chromatography, gravimetric analysis).
- Receives and follow instructions on assignment objectives with accuracy and great attention to detail. Spends the largest percentage of time in the laboratory.
- Associate analysts must use their analytical skills to understand how the collected data can affect business decisions, then prepare reports that detail findings and recommend solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instrumentation operation, sample analysis, Notebook documentation, reviewing reports, quality systems compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field.
- Relevant experience in an academic or industrial lab setting with emphasis on notebook documentation.
- Ability to analyze and document various different types of data.
- Ability to operate basic lab equipment including pH meters, pipettes, spectrophotometer, etc.
- Strong math skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
