Job Description

We are partnered with a market leading, boutique, yet rapidly growing Quantitative Hedge Fund (circa 50 employees) based in Chicago, and are assisting them in expanding their Finance function.

Currently, their Finance function consists of one person, their CFO, and is growing to two with this hire. Given that the firm and team are very small, this will be an extremely hands on and all encompassing role with enormous room for growth and progression as the firm expands.

They’re very open when it comes to what level they hire at and the remit of the role will change depending upon the experience level of who they bring into the business (looking for 3-10 years of experience, preferably with some time spent in a hedge fund). As a result, the compensation on offer is entirely negotiable and they’re more concerned with finding the ‘right’ person for the job.

The role includes:

• Month-end close for the management companies; month end expense review, analysis, allocation and reporting to operating committee
• Maintain budget and forecasts for the management company
• Review of fund administrator books & investor statements for funds
• Invoice, credit card and expense reimbursement processing through Concur
• Payroll and 401(k) processing
• Review quarterly and annual regulatory reporting for funds/advisor
• Update monthly partnership allocations for owners
• Maintain tax books and records
• Assist in year-end fund audit, fund financial statements, fund and management company K-1 & K-3s, 1099 filing, and fund and management company tax filings
• Respond to investor inquiries or requests
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
