GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
You will plan, facilitate and implement a Museum-wide Fellowship Program for art historians, conservators, scientists and educators at the pre and post-doctoral level. You will establish short and long-term goals for high quality, intellectually engaging programs for the fellows, identifying opportunities to expand the reach of the fellowship program and contribute to the field of museum education. You will work with staff within Education and across the museum, to contribute to the strategic planning and resource building for Academic and Professional Programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Oversee the planning and execution of year- round Fellowship program activities including orientation, research sharing workshops, talks and exhibition tours with members of the professional staff
  • Plan, produce, and implement the Research Out Loud: Met Fellows' Present series in the late Spring.
  • Manage Fellows arrival to the Museum and meeting with fellows and supervisors on a regular basis throughout the Fellowship term.
  • Develop marketing strategies for promoting and diversifying the fellowship program.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Department, Design and Editorial to review/update fellowship section of Website and co-develop high impact online resources and digital tools that support the fellowship program, department and museum goals.
  • Supervise an Education Program Associate and guide in building Fellowship Alumni program and related resources.
  • Help plan the International Staff Exchange Programs' travel, including initial contact with exchange participants; arrangement of airfare/hotels and scheduling of meetings at MMA and other institutions. Coordinate the MMA's staff participants travel on these same Exchange Programs.
  • Oversee Fellowship and International Exchange Program budgets, tracking expenses and preparation of Donor reports.
  • Participate in Fellowship Grants Committee meetings and assisting with the processing of incoming fellowship applications, preparation and dissemination of fellowship financial grids and applicant information and taking minutes at the Grants Committee meeting.
  • Assist on other visual culture programs related to Universities and Academic Partnerships. Teaching audiences of all ages and abilities across program areas as needed.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters' degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences
  • 5 years’ experience working on Academic and Professional Programs
  • Background in History of Art and Visual Culture
  • Knowledge of foreign languages
  • Excellent organizational skills, follow-through, problem-solving skills, and ability to develop effective program structures and work processes, ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated management experience, including experience supervising staff, fellows, and/or interns
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with individuals from a wide range of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
COMPENSATION RANGE:
  • Pay Range: $75,000 - $82,000
  • The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
