ABC News live is hiring a Booking Associate Producer. The ideal candidate will be a news junkie who knows how to pitch and book guests for daily news segments and during breaking news coverage. Additionally, the candidate will have control room experience and solid editorial judgement. Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Pitching guest segments
• Researching and present accurate facts to producers
• Booking guests/contributors to appear on various ABCNL shows
• Pre-interviewing guests
• Maintaining guest/contributor database
• Greeting guests and prepping in studio segments
• Checking in guests in the control room

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced news environment or on a similar live broadcast or streaming channel.

Preferred Qualifications

• TV production experience including control room experience, booking, writing, and editing
• iNews and Avid experience a plus
• Excellent editorial judgment along with the ability to communicate clearly, multi-task and prioritize.
• Self-starter who takes initiative, but also work collaboratively.
• Able to work in versatile start-up environment, but also understand and work with existing systems in the broadcast side of ABC.
• Willing to travel when needed

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in New York is $56,400 to $77,550 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
