Associate Product Manager – Precision Fastening

Job Summary:

Ingersoll Rand’s Power Tools Business Unit is searching for a Associate Product Manager- Precision Fastening to provide strategic and tactical product management leadership focused on driving growth in the Power Tool Category. Strategy and product planning are key elements of this role with the goal of developing a long term vision for the portfolio, identifying where to play and how to win.


The Associate Product Manager is responsible for championing the Precision Fastening product category strategy ensuring users are able to connect, explore, and interact through multiple interfaces such as the power tool, controller, SAAS products and/or phone app that are intuitive, easy to use, and dependable. Collaborate and provides ideas to develop a robust multi-generation new digital product pipeline, leading key new digital projects from ideation to launch, conducting market research to capture end user requirements, and driving key initiatives to deliver growth. This individual will work closely with sales, marketing and customer experience across regions to align priorities to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met, as well as work closely with engineering and operations to deliver new products to market and identify opportunities for margin expansion. This person should possess strong analytical skills to allow him/her to make informed decisions and will be accountable for meeting or exceeding the category’s revenue, margin, and market share targets.


Job Description:

  • Conduct industry, market, competitor, and internal performance analytics, including detailed segmentation of end users of bolting products
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for growth.
  • Define and prioritize product features and requirements based on market research, customer feedback, and business objectives.
  • Develop product launch plans and marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize product performance.
  • Collaborate with regional product management and marketing teams to identify and implement acceleration programs to fuel global growth of the Industrial category
  • Collaborate with engineering to generate productivity and optimization opportunities within the product line and actively participant in the value analysis / value engineering process (VAVE)
  • Champion key new Precision Fastening products from ideation to commercialization
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure that products are competitive and meet customer needs.
  • Lead the development of a multi-generational digital products pipeline.
  • Identify disruptive innovation opportunities through a deep understanding of unmet end-user needs.
  • Own the digital product portfolio P&L, analyze revenue and profitability of product offering
  • Define pricing strategy and actions by region and channel for product portfolio

Qualifications/ Competenices


  • Bachelors/ Master’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in product management or related field.
  • Strong understanding of software and hardware product development processes.
  • Experience managing products from ideation to launch, including market research, product planning, and development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Passion for technology and innovation
