Bag Handler / Benefits start on DAY one

Overview: Hourly Rate / $16.00 an hour

Should have a valid Driving License

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A BAG HANDLER

• Assists in clearing Jams from the baggage handling system
• Assists Technicians or other personnel with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing.
• Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
• Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must be able obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy
• Able to pass a background check
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to clear a background and drug screen
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is a physically demanding position which requires on-the-job security training and the ability to receive all applicable airport security badges.

• Communicating effectively and clearly. Asking each passenger the safety and security questions
• Loading passenger luggage onto the security screening induction belt
• Working closely with the Airline ticket counter agents

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in all areas located on Airport property. May be around dust, dirt, moving machinery, temperature changes, heights and noise levels below OSHA minimum requirements. Use of PPE is required.
