Charlotte, NC ONLY (no exception) / Hybrid requiring 3 days/week in office

Bank equipment/laptop required to stay in the US

This is a 1099 engagement.

What you’ll do in this role

You’ll write clear, concise, human-centered content for a variety of touchpoints: website pages, applications, emails, and notifications & alerts, to name a few. Being comfortable working with content management and design systems is a big plus. You’ll also:

  • Make sure your content blends seamlessly across our digital products while you apply our existing style, brand and tone guidelines

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary product designers to present compelling imagery and language that helps customers complete tasks through engaging narratives

  • Create content every step of the way – from early ideation to digital delivery, including: content value propositions, content design deliverables, and final copy for comprehensive specifications, prototypes, and content management systems

  • Digest content, design and business requirements quickly and use them to guide your work

  • Willingly take on the challenge of writing and revising until all stakeholders are satisfied

  • Work on a few projects at once, managing your time, keeping up with evolving details and meeting or managing stakeholders’ expectations

  • Engage effectively with people across the bank, partnering with a diverse set of project stakeholders including product managers, engineers, and business partners

  • Accept feedback from a diverse group of business, delivery, tech, accessibility and control partners while courteously defending your word choices and content approach

You’re a person who has (required skills)

  • 3+ years of industry experience as a content designer, content strategist, UX writer or copy writer

  • A record of working with cross-functional product development, content and design teams to ship customer-facing digital products

  • Experience writing and shaping many different kinds of content across system, user, ecommerce and transactional experiences, including copy for apps, responsive web, and websites

  • A working knowledge of the AP Style Guide and WCAG 2.1 standards with a keen eye for typos

  • The ability to contribute to and follow editorial and tone standards

  • A portfolio of work samples that you’re proud to share

  • A solid understanding of human-centered design and rapid ideation processes (e.g., Agile, Lean UX)

  • Experience using SEO guidelines as well as quantitative and qualitative data to inform and inspire content choices

  • A working knowledge of common content management systems

  • Proofreading or editing experience

You’ll be better prepared if you have (desired skills)

  • Experience collaborating through Sketch, InVision, and other common design tools

  • A solid understanding of the differences between long and short-form copy (think site pages vs. mobile apps)

  • General knowledge of AI and its applications

  • Experience with writing and managing content for Conversational UI and Voice UI systems

  • Financial services experience

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Content Management Systems (CMS), and design systems
