What You'll Do:

We are looking for candidates who have a passion for spirits and cocktails, but also recognize that our primary focus is to serve people, not just drinks.

As a Banquet Bartender at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, you will execute a top-tier cocktail program through consistent and expert drink execution while consistently delivering a high-level of service. You will use your knowledge of spirits and cocktails to create an incredibly memorable experience for our members and guests. You'll provide timely and courteous service to our banquet guests, encouraging the guest to return and facilitate outstanding banquet experiences. You'll serve beverages at banquet functions in a timely manner in a dynamic team-focused environment. Banquets can be a business meeting, wedding or even just a reason for a family to get together. Some of your responsibilities include:
  • Provide guests with excellent customer service and accommodate any needs for reasonable special requests.
  • Prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and soft drinks as ordered.
  • Maintain the bar and keep it clean and organized.
  • Ensure that fruit, juices, garnishes, and the bar mise-en-place are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
  • Attractively display glasses and liquor bottles.
  • Collect payment from members and guests.
  • Help prepare the room for events (set, tables, tablecloths, dishes, silverware as needed).
  • Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to customers who are intoxicated or disruptive.
  • Carefully follow all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service.
  • Answer questions related to the menu and event.
  • Lead yourself based on the details and support given from Banquet Captain, Lead Server, or Banquet Manager.
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.

What You Bring
  • Passion for creating ridiculously personable experiences!
  • Previous food & beverage, hospitality, restaurant, banquets, or hotel experience is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation and service.
  • Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with guest complaints.
  • Ability to learn point of sale system used on property.
  • Strong knowledge of food and wine preferred.
  • Ability to get along with staff and guests.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be legal drinking age or older.
