MVRDV is looking for an ambitious individual to join our New York office in the role of Business Developer / Operations Assistant. This is an opportunity to join MVRDV at an exciting time to contribute to our growth and expansion in the region. You will work in close collaboration with the Global Head of Business Development and the Business Development team based in Rotterdam while also coordinating with the Director of the New York office on operations related to the procurement of new projects.

You are a motivated self-starter and have confidence in taking on tasks and anticipating potential needs. You are also an open-minded person who is comfortable working in a team of professionals internationally. Last but not least, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and are excited by the prospect of developing the prospects for MVRDV in North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urbanism, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture or related study within the built environment;
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in the building industry;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Familiarity with prequalification processes and documents (EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, etc);
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills;
  • Experienced Adobe Creative Suite, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint user.

Responsibilities

  • Take initiative and actively support the business development team, collaborating regularly with the team in Rotterdam to achieve broader goals together;
  • Prepare, coordinate, and produce tender documents, including creating and editing written and graphic content based on our standards;
  • Produce, maintain, and update project reference sheets, portfolios, CVs, and other content related to project procurement;
  • Assist in the analysis of potential projects including conducting research into potential opportunities;
  • Assist with the drafting of fee proposals;
  • Maintain our CRM ad project databases;
  • Support the operations of the New York office including but not limited to; coordination of agendas for the Director and other MVRDV team members, local research and networking, facilitate communication with the headquarters in Rotterdam.
