Concert Golf Partners is a boutique owner-operator of upscale private country clubs nationwide. We are seeking a highly motivated, disciplined, and organized business development professional to join our Corporate Development team.
Job Summary
As Acquisition Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Concert Golf Partner’s (“CGP”) acquisition growth strategy. The Representative’s primary responsibilities include daily systematic outreach to prospective country club acquisition targets, prioritizing acquisition prospects, fostering meaningful long-term prospect relationships with target country clubs, educating prospects about Concert Golf and the value proposition of selling their Club to CGP, planning prospect events/outings and tracking relationship management activities in Salesforce. The Representative will accomplish this through a combination of daily prospect calling, daily emails, mass marketing campaigns, in person visits, and the like.
It is critical that the Representative has strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build a high degree of credibility and trust among business owners and board members of member-owned country clubs. The Representative must be highly organized with an eye for detail and a systematic and organized approach to daily outreach. In addition, the Representative must be good at discovery with business owners and board members to look for the triggering events causing a prospective Club to want to engage in acquisition discussions with CGP. The Representative must be optimistic and efficient in their day-to-day work and willing to travel to visit prospective Clubs in the United States.
This key position reports to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development.
Primary Functions:
  • Systematic and daily outreach to prospective country club acquisition Board Members, Developers and Private owners to find new relationships for CGP.
  • Finding new contacts/contact information at prospective country clubs.
  • Perform discovery with board members and owners of country clubs to begin fostering relationship leading to selling their Club to CGP.
  • Work with country club prospects/brokers to gather information necessary to perform financial analysis/evaluation.
  • Present CGP value proposition to acquisition prospects.
  • Ruthlessly update and track data learned and activity completed in Salesforce and use data tracked to continuously improve outreach efforts.
  • Assist with prioritizing acquisition prospects in Salesforce to ensure outreach is efficient and to Clubs that fit CGP’s criteria for an acquisition.
  • Ensure outreach is primarily to prioritized Clubs that fit CGP investment criteria.
Secondary Functions:
  • Help plan prospect events and invite actionable acquisition prospects to events
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials to use when prospecting acquisitions
  • Foster internal CGP relationships with employees and members to help identify reference relationships for prospective Clubs
  • Create and implement mass email strategy to the industry to keep CGP presented in front of potential acquisition targets
  • Generate reports for senior leaders within the organization for acquisition prospecting and pipeline.
  • Manage referral relationships and stay in front of referral/finders on a monthly basis to keep CGP top of mind.
  • Act in a manner that maintains CGP’s position as an “Acquirer of Choice”
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend all required team and company meetings and show ability to be a self-starter, working from home with little oversight and working 40 hours a week.
  • Other duties as assigned by SVP, Corporate Development.
Education and Years of Experience:
  • BS in Business or related field is required.
  • 3-5+ years of account management, outreach, sales, development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong responsibility, self-motivated, able to work under high pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude - must be resourceful and self-directed.
  • Experience working with small businesses owners and successful businesspersons working on board of directors at clubs.
  • Must have experience of working in a corporate/business focused environment.
  • Knowledge of the golf and country club industry.
  • Presentation Skills.
  • Professionalism.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
Additional information:
Typical Physical/Mental Requirements:
Work is performed in an office setting and requires the incumbent to sit for prolonged periods of time. Requires ability to communicate clearly in person and by telephone and frequently operate equipment such as a computer and telephone.
Salary:
The estimated base salary is $75,000 + a lucrative sales incentive program depending on qualifications which may include experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
