Job Description

GEI provides civil, structural, water resources, environmental, and ecological investigation and design services on projects across the country. We currently utilize design software on a range of project types, and are looking to expand this practice while also expanding and integrating other related practices to include existing conditions scanning, virtual reality, augmented reality and drone-based imaging. Growing and further developing our 3D Modeling / Design practice is consistent with our strategic plan and represents a significant opportunity for the organization. Sample locations are listed, this position could potentially be in one of several states, but the preference is to have the position located in Dallas.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support design technology software updates for all users, and assist with annual software deployments
  • Maintain and update all custom GEI templates, content, and other features and tools as applicable for the software
  • Review and develop tools and workflows to improve project execution and delivery
  • Provide research and development and recommendations for new content, tools, workflows
  • Develop and deliver training and associated materials for new and existing staff
  • Update, maintain, and coordinate graphical standards and styles among the various software platforms and associated manager(s) for consistent graphical appearance of our work product that establishes a unified GEI brand across all design technology software platforms including cell libraries, line styles, and project border files
  • Participate on project teams to develop engineering designs and produce project documents using Modeling and Design tools, and provide oversight, support and internal QA / QC to project teams
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree, Associates Degree, Technical Certifications in a related field, or comparable professional experience
  • 10+ years of experience working with design technology software
  • Possess a valid driver s license
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time

Minimum Qualifications

  • Passion for learning and innovating within design and project execution software
  • Familiarity with Bentley offerings, licensing, and other back-end support
  • Excellent skills and extensive experience with analysis and design technology software (Microstation, Geopak, OpenRoads-Connect Edition workflow and workspace setup, OpenGround, ProjectWise, etc.), tools, and workflows
  • Experience with Texas Department of Transportation projects, as well as other DOTs in other states requiring Bentley products for project deliverables
  • High-energy individual looking for career growth in a highly professional and collaborative work environment
