Duties and Responsibilities
Directly reporting to the Laboratory Manager.
- Calibration of Instrumentation (Load, Pressure, Mass, Length, Volume, Time, Temperature, etc.)
- Field testing using geophysical methods with travel to domestic and international project sites.
- Data Acquisition System Setup and Trouble-shooting
- Maintenance of test equipment, support equipment, and facilities.
- Performs other duties and functions assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- 40-hour work week with paid overtime when necessary for field testing schedule
- This is an in-person position. Laboratory is located at 103 Coraopolis Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108

Requirements:
The candidate shall have a minimum of secondary level education
- Flexible schedule: field testing can require travel within 24 hours of notice, with travel hours outside of regular working hours and overtime. Anticipate traveling ˜30% of the time overall, typically in the late Summer, Fall and early Winter.
- Technical Skill: Both laboratory and field operations alike include complex machinery and computer programs to conduct tests.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft applications, including MS Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Performing testing requires exact measurements and attention to detail.
- Dexterity and Hand-Eye Coordination: Small samples/components and sensitive lab equipment.
- Stamina: Field technicians work extended shifts outside in the elements performing physically difficult tasks.
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds of samples that requires tests. Able to maneuver in field carrying instrumentation through rough terrain and up and down slopes.
- Ability to follow instructions and laboratory and testing procedures
- Ability to work independently in field with remote support
- Ability to read and comprehend packaged instructions
- Ability to pass a drug test at any time

Preferred Skills
- Accreditation for instrumentation calibration through a certifying body (e.g. ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT).”
- Experience with geophysical data collection and analysis software
- Knowledgeable in physical and mechanical testing of Geosynthetic materials, in-plant sampling
- Minimum of three years of work-related skill or experience in similar endeavor. Relevant experience in environmental projects is an advantage
