Eligible for $3000 Sign On Bonus

Qualifications include:

  • Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant Program with current certification within 6 months required or
  • Wisconsin LPN license required.
  • Current BLS required
  • One year of ambulatory care and/or specialty care experience preferred. GI highly desirable.
  • EPIC experience preferred.

Schedule:

  • 64 hours a pay period. Days

Duties include:

  • Assists Health Care Providers by preparing patients for examinations according to clinic policies and procedures ensuring patients receives services in a timely fashion.
  • Performs functions that support/provide patient care, i.e., rooming patients, obtains and records vital signs and other pertinent physical measurements. Prepares all required forms and obtains consent, as necessary.
    • Reviewing charts for the presence of pertinent information relevant to the encounter. Collecting and organizing data for examination by physician. Retrieves and reviews patient EMR/chart information prior to meeting with patient ensuring all pertinent information (i.e. hospital discharge information, lab results, etc.) is complete or works to locate and collect necessary information
    • Pre-visit plans patient charts prior to visit, following health maintenance guidelines and noting services due at visit and prepare to do standing orders, i.e., tetanus or pneumovax, etc.
    • Preparing exam rooms and treatment rooms for examination of the patient and set up for procedures.
    • Provides education and/or materials to patient regarding health issues and procedures
    • Documents patient related information on the appropriate section of the EMR.
      • Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication by gathering all necessary and appropriate information from a caller and relaying the information to the appropriate provider. Also, by accurately receiving messages and test results and relaying them appropriately.
      • Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.
  • Assists Health Care Providers by performing tests or giving injections as directed.
  • Assists Health Care Provider with minor surgical procedures as directed.
  • Utilizes equipment for testing, procedures efficiently.
  • Prepares and administers medications as ordered by Health Care Provider.
    • Assists with procedures under the direction of the provider, understanding and maintaining sterile technique as necessary for the procedure.
  • Assists Health Care Providers with all patient related duties.
    • Assists with patient phone calls taking accurate messages of patient needs or requests and relays Physician advice to patients.
    • Refills patient medication per protocol or at the direction of the HCP.
    • Assists patients to schedule appointments per request by Health Care Providers and notifies patient of necessary information.
    • Accepts calls from or contacts outside HCP’s or specialty providers at the direction of the HCP.
      • Obtain health needs/concerns of patients who call or walk-in.
      • Receive patient messages and calls patient for additional information as needed. Document clear and concise message into EMR.
      • First search and review incoming prescription refill request in EMR. Then work on incoming fax requests from pharmacies for renewal as well as phone call requests for samples and prescriptions.
      • Forward requests for antibiotics, narcotics, steroids, all prescriptions not in the approved medication protocol to appropriate provider.
      • Review charts to determine other necessary services such as labs that are due.
