Job Description

Within our corporate Finance & Accounting team located in Denver – Leprino is seeking a Corporate Accountant to take lead with the preparation of monthly journal entries, help assure financial results are reported accurately and in compliance with policies, procedures, and accounting principles.


At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $64,700 and $76,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 5%.


  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Using technical accounting research, ensure financial statements are prepared in compliance with policies and procedures and all pertinent accounting principles.
  • Provide support for both internal and external audits.
  • Complete accurate, timely and meaningful account reconciliations monthly.
  • Provide monthly variance explanations for business partners and quarterly balance sheet fluctuation explanations to support our quarterly financial documents.
  • Maintain a system of controls over the distribution, retention and retrieval of financial reports.
  • Direct external accounting firms in their monthly financial preparation to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support the budget cycle with accurate, efficient, and consistent reporting
  • Develop budget assumptions by partnering with each cost center owner.
  • Lead preparation of annual corporate payroll budgets ensuring accurate computation of salary/labor and benefit expenses and compliance payroll tax requirements.
  • Identify processes and tools to improve the efficiency of the budgeting cycle.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the general ledger and the integrity, reliability and relevancy of the financial data.
  • Preparation of certain G&A cost center budgets.
  • Utilize SAP and Microsoft products to create efficiencies within the department and improve reporting and month end analytics.

You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least two (2) years of accounting experience.
  • An excellent grasp of GAAP to process the technical expertise required for timely and accurate reporting.
  • The ability to work a weekly 3/2 (office/home) hybrid schedule.
