SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, the Customer Sales Associate role consistently delivers excellent service to all customers. The Customer Sales Associate role assists with the day-to-day operations of a Kelly-Moore paint store. This role contributes to the gross margin and store profitability performance objectives of the store. In addition, this is a work study role for minors, and we will follow all requirements related to employing minors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills using the Signature Service Standards.
  • Assists customers with the selection of paint colors and sundry products through the point of sale.
  • Prepares and/or contributes to the processing of operational and sales documents.
  • Accurately handles payment transactions, including cash and charge verifications, following company protocols, and obtaining required approvals.
  • Accurately follows receiving procedures, unloads, and stocks incoming inventory.
  • Accurately tints paint and eye match’s color.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
  • Effectively interacts with co-workers to create a productive & successful team environment.
  • Double checks all orders- colors, products, and quantities, etc. to ensure accuracy.
  • Helps to maintain paint and sundry inventories to required levels.
  • Helps to maintain company standards for store appearance, including the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the store.
  • Helps to maintain company merchandising standards for store appearance, window and sales floor displays, promotional displays, etc.
  • Assists Store Management to ensure store meets all operational parameters and goals.
  • Completes all required training in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all Kelly-Moore Paint Company policies and procedures.
  • May perform light maintenance including sweeping, mopping, and dusting. May clean restrooms as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Frequently kneels, stoops, crouches, bends, climbs, reaches overhead, pushes, pulls, and grasps.
  • Works around heat, cold, dirt, dust, and minimal paint odors.
  • Uses electronic point-of-sale device and scanner.
  • Accurately distinguishes colors.
  • Frequently carries, relocates and/or lifts up to 70 pound cartons and containers (including 5-gallon paint containers).
  • Stands and walks on concrete surfaces for up to 8 hours per day.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • English language skills, including a level of reading comprehension, and written and oral language conventions.
  • Math skills of number sense, measurement, and geometry, and math reasoning.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Broad knowledge of the application and use of paint and sundries is preferred.
  • For CA residents, you must have a valid work permit.
