Data Analyst I - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time - Days

Roles & Responsibilities:
Mount Sinai’s Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) is seeking a Data Analyst I to perform data review, entry, extracting, analytics, reporting, and support for several grant-funded programs in IAM’s portfolio, largely focused on outreach, prevention, linkage and care services for people with or affected by HIV. The Data Analyst I will be responsible for providing data reports and feedback to our staff and funders, focused on clinical outcomes, program deliverables and benchmarks, staff and client satisfaction, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, site visits and related needs. The Data Analyst I will be responsible for implementing best information technology data management practices in an effort to improve and ensure quality, streamline data cleaning efforts and deliver analyzable databases within agreed upon project timelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Designs and writes custom applications needed to ensure databases meet requirements for the entry, management, extraction and reporting of data. Data will need to be collated from multiple sources, including registration systems, electronic medical records, web- and cloud-based reporting systems.
2. Assists in the development of data management plans and guidelines that will deliver accurate, timelines consistent with quality data. Assures the quality control compliance process.
3. Identifies and implements solutions to data management needs, issues and concerns that arise.
4. Assists staff with technical issues related to electronic and remote record keeping systems; trains and supports staff to help improve quality of data collected.
5. May assist staff with queries and generating statistical analyses.
6. Maintains knowledge of the current regulations and technologies related to data management.
7. May write and prepare presentations, reports, manuscripts and other materials for internal and external audiences.
8. Abstraction of medical charts and data entry into program databases for data that cannot be discretely collected.
9. Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics and/or related field, or combination of equivalent work experience and education. Master’s degree in relevant field of study preferred.
2. 2-3 years database application/management experience, preferably in a large medical center or healthcare environment.
3. Intermediate facility with Microsoft Office programs and SQL
4. Interest in working with a team of dedicated health professionals on issues of patient access and health equity for marginalized communities
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills and cultural intelligence
6. High level of organization and attention to detail
7. Ability to independently manage a complex work schedule

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $74,250.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
