SUMMARY:

Visual Comfort & Co. is looking for a DAM Librarian to manage internal company assets and overall digital asset management which includes taxonomy, indexing, cataloging, archiving, metadata tagging, content management systems, etc. The DAM Librarian reports to the Creative Director and plays a vital role in the management of assets and orchestration of content delivery across Visual Comfort & Co. This role will work closely with Product Development, Creative/Marketing, Photography/Retouching, and DAM stakeholders to:


  • Gather and log anecdotal feedback from DAM Viewers - Often these vitally important pieces of feedback are the result of ad-hoc interactions, rather than found in the auditing data and reporting tools alone.
  • Drive metadata and taxonomy strategies and approach, considering asset retrieval needs and alignment with business needs.
  • Develop and oversee content procedure workflows to ensure useful, relevant workflows that meet business needs across the system and across the asset life cycle (ingest to archive).
  • Develop and maintain metadata of shared terms with definitions and rationale.
  • Create and improve guidelines for metadata ingestion, including licensing and usage rights.
  • Oversee application of keywords, controlled vocabulary, categories, and other identifying tags to assets to improve accessibility.
  • Monitor and audit assets to adhere to established governance standards; ensure process standards are being followed for managing assets.
  • Develop and maintain user roles and access, set appropriate rights and permissions for all users, and set system policies regarding usage rights in collaboration with the legal department.
  • Regularly review quality of search results to meet user demand for quality access by working directly with users.
  • Generate appropriate taxonomy/metadata reports to share with business content owners and governance stewards for regular review and update.
  • Provide training and ongoing support on the best practices of content import and metadata application to ensure that all content imported into system meets business goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage all planned enhancements and work with user groups to establish priorities and commitment to planned changes.
  • Communicate requirement changes to implementation partners.
  • Review and confirm usefulness of system security profiles and user access rights.
  • Support workflow oversight and ad hoc change implementation to ensure useful, relevant workflows across the system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelors degree in Library Information Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training.


RELATED EXPERIENCE:

5-7 years of digital asset management experience with an enterprise-level DAM


HOURS:

Monday through Friday, full-time with work hours assigned by Manager. Some weekend work maybe required depending on product launches, marketing deployment, and tradeshows.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with creative asset workflows, and systems (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with metadata schema development, high-volume file transmissions, establishing naming conventions, cataloging and taxonomy for assets
  • Knowledge of wide-ranging file formats and specifications including still, video, social, 3D and web content
  • Proven technology background, including MS Office Suite software, and familiarity with trends in delivery of electronic information
  • Experienced in one or more digital asset management technologies
  • Strong organizational skills and comfortable working in highly creative, fast-paced environment
  • Process driven and detail focused
  • Basic knowledge of talent contracts and usage rights management
  • Familiarity with legal approval processes in the licensing industry
  • Problem solving and research skills

  • Manage bulk asset ingestion

  • Store, catalog, and organize assets

  • Help users find assets - Browse AEM (basic functionality)
  • Omni-search - search bar or / button on keyboard

  • Providing system access and adding new users to their respective groups
  • Train users on how to search and discover assets
  • Ensure efficient naming, storage, and maintenance of the asset usage rights

Manage and monitor the access and use of digital assets, ensuring brand consistency, compliance,

  • Provide recommendations to the product owner, DAM Administrator, and/or DAM strategist

  • Create and edit processing profiles
  • Configure and integrate Dynamic Media with AEM Assets
  • Create and edit image and video profiles
  • Create and edit image and video presets
  • Create and edit image and video viewers
  • Create Workflow Models and Launchers
  • Create Content Fragment Models
  • Create and manage asset renditions
  • Edit and configure asset search forms/facets
  • Configure and leverage DRM features
  • Setup and configure Adobe Asset Link
  • Setup and configure AEM Assets Desktop App
  • Setup and configure Asset Templates with InDesign Server
  • Setup and configure Smart Tags and enhanced Smart Tags
  • Setup and configure Adobe Brand Portal
  • Setup language translation framework, prepare assets for translation and apply translation services to folders
  • Configure the Workfront for Experience Manager enhanced connector
  • Configure Asset Insights with Adobe Analytics
  • Enable XMP writeback
  • Engage with current and potential DAM users, DAM Librarians and DAM Strategists to guide taxonomy, metadata, and overall DAM strategy
  • Conducts surveys, interviews, focus groups with DAM stakeholders
  • Illicit requirement documentation from stakeholders and provide documentation to development teams
  • Drive change management and system adoption
  • Ensure timely software updates
  • Coordinate system downtime with DAM stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely resolutions
  • User, group, and permission management
  • System monitoring and alerting
  • Configuration management and administration
