Purpose of the Job

The Digital Channel Project Coordinator will act as a liaison and subject matter expert (SME) for the digital channel for corporate projects. The Digital Channel Project Coordinator will plan, execute and finalize projects of small to medium size and complexity, and represent the Digital Experience department and provide support to Digital Channel leadership on corporate project initiatives that allow Truliant to improve the digital experience for our member-owners.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for digital channel platforms, capabilities and processes on corporate projects and small to medium size Digital Experience department project efforts.
  • Understands the digital self-service needs of our members and works with project team and stakeholders to build and deliver experience improvements as well as new capabilities.
  • Applies project management tools, principles, processes and associated knowledge areas as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Develops key documents in each process area utilized in managing the project life cycle such as, project charter, scope of work, risk management plan, change management plan, quality control and communication plan.
  • Applies standard project management processes or a modification of those processes with approval of the Digital Channel Manager.
  • Identifies key issues, risks, gaps or problems and escalates as necessary to ensure awareness and seek assistance with resolution.
  • Collaborates with operational stakeholders to improve existing processes affected by projects and to implement new processes to compliment the project’s success.
  • Manages project scope, budget and work breakdown structure to assure the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Assists Digital Experience team in development and maintenance of project schedules and work flow including inter-departmental timeline management and documentation.
  • Responsible for necessary testing and QA as it relates to digital platforms and capabilities. Ensures a successful digital experience that aligns with our mission and business plan objectives at project launch.
  • Monitors project process and prepares periodic reports to senior management on status v. established timeline, budgets and expected results.
  • Effectively analyzes and documents all change associated to a project and gains approval for identified impacts to time, budget and scope.
  • Develops meeting agendas, facilitates project team meetings and captures key discussion points in detailed meeting minutes.
  • Provides timely and concise status reports for all projects.
  • Coordinates efforts to develop new tracking tools and/or self-service tools to benefit the Digital Experience department as well as internal partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have extensive technical knowledge of current systems, software, protocols and standards
  • Must have ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
  • Must have project knowledge in the financial industry or digital channel space and have experience managing small to medium size projects with a proven ability to effectively implement solutions end to end that transition smoothly to daily operations
  • Must have demonstrated ability of managing and prioritizing a diverse set of projects
  • Must have solid analytical skills in regards to business process flows and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required, with the ability to research issues, summarize findings, and make meaningful recommendations
  • Must have ability to understand all business processes within the credit union, as well as understanding the underlying technologies supporting those business processes
  • Must be adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Must have strong conceptual skills to apply learned knowledge to a variety of situations
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must have superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible, compassionate
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain external vendor relationships as well as collaborate with in-house teams.
  • Must have knowledge in the use of MS Projects, Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Must possess the leadership skills necessary to prepare for and facilitate meetings with all levels within the organization
  • Must have excellent time management skills to apply to a multi-tasking environment
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Must have ability to grasp new concepts, plan work and execute projects in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess the ability to work consultatively to maximize the successful implementation of the project assigned
  • Must be able to work in a general office environment
  • Must be detail oriented and have a high sense of accountability
  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s members, both internal and external

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for moderate periods of time and use a computer
  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum three years relevant digital experience required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience required in the financial industry or digital channel implementing small to medium sized projects and supporting various components of large projects
  • PMI certification preferred
