The Role at a Glance
We are excited for the opportunity to bring on an experienced Pricing Actuary to lead our Long Term Disability (LTD) Pricing team. Lincoln is a leading provider of Employer Benefits and LTD is a core component of our product suite. As the Director of our LTD team, you will be responsible for setting LTD rates and will be a major contributor to the strategic direction of the product.
What you'll be doing
  • Lead and mentor team of actuarial students and actuaries.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of pricing assumptions used to develop Long Term Disability rates.
  • Collaborate with business partners in Product, Underwriting, Finance, and Distribution to drive LTD business strategy.
  • Remain current and educating the organization on LTD Pricing best practices.
  • Support cross functional LTD initiatives by providing LTD Pricing subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborates with Finance, Distribution, and Underwriting teams to develop a Pricing Strategy for Long Term Disability.
  • Monitors new sale profitability and renewal execution throughout the year and provides recommended changes where appropriate.
  • Maintains a strong relationship with key business partners throughout the organization and leverages those relationships to stay on top of emerging internal and external trends.
  • Provides Pricing subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
  • Develop innovative strategies to drive targeted business results for key market segments.
  • Lead data-driven analysis to inform decision making.
  • Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
  • Directs and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for the Pricing Strategy team.
  • Establishes and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure results.
What we’re looking for
Must Haves:
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of Long Term Disability Pricing experience
  • 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • FSA or ASA designation required
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
  • Experience managing a team of technical experts

Pay Range: $102,000 - $184,500

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
