Summary

Gaia is seeking a Video Editor to collaborate with internal creatives, cross-functional teams, and department stakeholders to create promotional assets for Gaia’s world-changing programming. The candidate needs to be fluent in English. Additional language fluency in either French or German is a big plus. They should be resourceful, and confident, while also being mature enough not to have an ego. This position takes responsibility for promo editorial from ingest/organization of materials through the delivery of color-corrected and mixed digital masters for distribution. As a member of the Creative Services Department, you will work with the Promo Manager, Head of Creative Services, and other department stakeholders to produce, edit and finish assets to be distributed in multiple formats (16:9, 4:5, 9:16 aspect ratios) across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Native Web Advertising, Podcasts). Our ideal candidate will be experienced in all phases of the digital asset creation process.

This is not an entry-level position and a portfolio is required. The ideal candidate will be a proven storyteller, highly organized, proficient in motion graphics, and a strong video editor.

Responsibilities

  • Video editors are responsible for the creative development and execution of title-level trailers, spots, and other forms of promotional videos.
  • Must have a strong voice and sense of direction in crafting narrative short-form assets. No script, no copy, no boundaries.
  • Troubleshoot problems both technical and creative as they come up and know when to ask for help.
  • Select appropriate music and sound bites to convey specific tones and emotions.
  • Work with creative teammates to glean insights of past successes and spot trends to create engaging video content that reaches a wide audience.
  • Collaborate with the creative team and external stakeholders to promote specific campaigns and initiatives.
  • Work closely with team members to solve problems from multiple angles.
  • Abide by brand guidelines.
  • Ability to manage and organize workloads around tight deadlines
  • Maintain editorial standards and organizational guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have 5 or more years of verifiable video editing experience.
  • Highly skilled with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere.
  • Fluent in German or French preferred.
  • Creative problem solver and quick thinker.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Familiarity and affinity for our content are prerequisites to applying.
  • Gaia membership is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work on-site at our campus in Louisville, CO.
  • US citizenship or an existing work visa is required.
  • Must be a non-smoker

Compensation
