From the first Apple computer to the iPhone, Apple has a history of crafting revolutionary consumer products. Apple is looking for a hard-working software test engineer who will help continue this trend by contributing to an in-house software package that will enable our designers to discover the next generation of Apple products. The test engineer will design and implement test procedures and coordinate with technical team members, both software developers and design engineers, to review system requirements. As a new position, it offers the opportunity to influence the overall structure and direction of testing efforts along with the freedom to explore creative solutions to the team’s testing needs.

Description

- Coordinate with both software developers and design engineers to review system requirements and effective test strategies - Collaborate on sets of acceptance test requirements to ensure key feature functionally - Generate test data and identify use/corner cases required to meet user needs - Design and implement testing procedures including: Unit, Integration, Performance, and Regression Testing - Validate software functionality and key software metrics - Maintain automated test case tools using existing test case framework. Ensure that software and testing framework are synchronized - Investigate ways to enhance existing testing methods for improved quality assurance

Education & Experience

B.S. or higher. in Engineering or Physics with 3+ years of experience

Additional Requirements

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Strong knowledge of testing principles, concepts, techniques, and tools
    • Familiar with Git and with Git workflows
    • Experience with GPU programming (CUDA or OptiCL)
    • Experience in a software product team using Agile methods
    • Strong written communication for maintaining technical documentation of testing tools
    • Knowledge of Physics and Optics concepts is a plus

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $217,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
