  • Manages daily requests for content edits, marketing placements and translations delivered through all digital channels, print, consumer and B2B marketing.

What you'll do

  • Masters our digital brand standards and apply it to all content on aa.com
  • Updates all static and functional content that include files within the booking engine, check-in, travel waivers and incident planning in HTML, XML and JSON files
  • Supports content on our global sites using automated translation tools
  • Collaborates with internal partners to meet the needs of the business
  • Creates and maintains marketing placements on the homepage and throughout the site
  • Continuously monitors aa.com for outdated content and broken links
  • Writes and edits digital content that meets project goals and end user needs for complex efforts
  • Champion American’s lexicon, voice and brand standards across all digital channels
  • Deploys content from various content management systems
  • Participates in an on-call rotation, including weekends and late nights, for publishing alerts resulting from weather delays/cancellations or other operational issues
  • Other duties which are consistent with the position

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technical Communications, Journalism, Communications or English, or equivalent experience / training
  • 2 years of working within a CMS and editing / writing concise, web / mobile friendly copy for a major global brand and high traffic / transactional website
  • 1 year of experience applying HTML, CSS and JSON fragments using a content management system
  • 1 year using and maintaining advanced technologies for content creation and maintenance


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5+ years of working within a CMS and editing / writing / translating concise, web / mobile friendly copy
  • Experience mentoring and coaching a geographically dispersed team of editors and translators
  • Travel industry experience or general knowledge of the airline industry


Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of HTML coding and other technical expertise to troubleshoot and correct issues that affect booking or other actions that may impact customer experience on American's branded sites
  • Ability to understand technical jargon and translate into understandable concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously
  • Flexibility – adapt to change quickly and without hesitation
  • Working knowledge of industry standard localization tools
  • Working knowledge of content strategy
  • All other standard job requirements like the ability to work quickly and efficiently, on a team and individually, etc.
