Engineer / Architect Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

Provide independent design services as an entry-level Civil Engineer or Architect to the Civil Engineering Unit (CEU) Oakland. The CEUO staff primarily supports Coast Guard units located on the West Coast and Pacific Area, but this position may also support units in other parts of the United States. The primary work product will be support to project managers in the execution of CEUO design actions including, but not limited to, preparation of design procurement documents, CADD drafting, data entry, and construction management support along with related tasks associated with those actions. Provide support to design project managers in the preparation of design documents and procurement packages and assist with the development of designs as required for renovation, restoration, and/or construction of modern or historic Coast Guard facilities, as directed by the design team supervisor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the preparation of design documents and/or scopes of work for A/E services, Design/Build services, and construction work. This includes CADD Drafting, product market research for technical specifications and cost estimates, and preparation of documents, as needed, for the completion of procurement packages for construction projects.
• Provide support services to architectural and engineering designers in Coast Guard-specific project documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with the preparation of design documents is
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Windows 10, and MS

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting CEU
