Job Description

In this role you will have the responsibility for planning and managing the safety programs and activities at multiple distribution locations. Responsible for reviewing and incorporating standards and ensuring compliance with existing regulations related to Associate safety and health.

Position Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of one of the following areas: Howe (IN), Mocksville (NC), Albert Lea (MN) or North Olmsted (OH).

Key areas of responsibilities include:

• Analyze associate and business needs for distribution location(s) safety programs and develop strategies, goals and action plans to meet those needs.
• Lead investigations, respond to safety issues, conduct 'Root Cause Analyses" and communicate metrics and incident investigations to broad audience.
• Plan, organize, direct, audit and control safety activities working with distribution leaders and supervisors.
• Monitor safety related contracts and vendors to ensure delivery of agreed upon deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal guidelines as required and champion regulatory compliance and direct implementation of best practices.
• Ensure proper management and disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Prepare and submit all required federal, state, and local environmental permits and reports.
• Will be responsible for a full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendations for disciplinary action related to safety.
• Recruit, train and supervisor site specific Safety Technicians.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or related field with significant experience in safety and environmental programs
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Certified Safety Professional certification strongly preferred
• RCRA, TRI, storm water permit compliance, wastewater permit compliance experience.
• Demonstrated ability to build cross functional cohesive teams to achieve and maintain a positive safety culture and meet facility metrics.
• Dedicated and committed EHS leadership and presence.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50%of the time to regional sites.
