Job Description

Job Summary:

This position will manage day to day activities within the facility as it pertains to building maintenance, machine maintenance, and plant safety. This individual will also provide support for Plant leadership in other projects needed for successful plant operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance

  • Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Dispose of or oversee the disposal of accumulated trash and scrap materials.
  • Oversee construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and to ensure that facilities meet environmental, health, and security standards, and comply with government regulations.
  • Participate in architectural and engineering planning and design, including space and installation management.
  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for contracts, equipment, and supplies.
  • Evaluate and renew contracts for building inspections. (Ex. Elevator inspection, fire suppressant inspection, Pest control inspection, etc.)

Machine Maintenance

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
  • Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, or outside contractors.
  • Create and manage PM schedule for all machines.

Safety

  • Supply, operate, or maintain personal protective equipment.
  • Prepare or review specifications or orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards.
  • Inspect fire suppression systems or portable fire systems to ensure proper working order.
  • Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures.
  • Plan emergency response drills.
  • Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
  • Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
  • Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.

Knowledge:

  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.


Technology Skills:

  • Computer aided design CAD software- (Autodesk AutoCAD)
  • Data base user interface and query software- (Data Entry Software)
  • Office suite software- Microsoft Office


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil Engineering
  • 0 - 2 Years Experience


Job Location:

The job location is in our manufacturing facility in Clanton, Alabama.

Work environment:

This position is in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
