General Responsibilities:
Do you have a passion for safety and leading others! Join our team as a Field Supervisor in a Regional Safety Partner (RSP) role. In this role, you will help champion our safety culture and administer our program within the Kansas and Missouri region. The RSP is a partner between operations management, field and office personnel, safety coordinators within operations, and Terracon’s corporate safety department. The position will be based in Kansas City and will periodically travel to other regional offices throughout Kansas and Missouri.

The Regional Safety Partner is an advocate for safety awareness and serves as a promoter of safety workplace initiatives. They will ensure there is necessary education and training to support a safe and healthy environment for all employees and visitors in partnership with operations management.

With the addition of the regional safety partner role, we hope to enhance our safety culture, increase engagement around safety between supervisors and their staff, and expand the quality of our safety awareness across all staff.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in Company safety meetings
  • Coordinate and lead office safety team meetings
  • Organize monthly safety activities
  • Address safety action items with key stakeholders
  • Coordinate safety inspections for facilities, vehicles, equipment, etc.
  • Participate in incident review process
  • Participate in new employee onboarding related to safety topics
  • Assist with acquisition of safety supplies and personal protective equipment
  • Promote safety and well-being within operations.
  • Update and maintain emergency action plans
  • Coordinate safety training with operations management
  • Serve as office Fleet Representative to ensure vehicles are maintained to operate safely
  • Conduct safety check-ins and coordinate safety check-in program
  • Track and proactively respond to safety trends using dashboards and safety programs
  • Prepare and present reports to operations management related to safety and fleet topics
  • Advise operations management on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations
  • Investigate and respond to safety complaints and concerns raised by employees
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering or Geology.
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
Certification or licensure in field of expertise.
