YOUR LIFE AS A FINANCIAL - ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

This full-time accounts payable position works the day shift with additional hours as needed.

As a Financial - Accounting Specialist in human services, you're responsible for validating financial claims for compliance with funding policies, procedures, and regulations. You audit and analyze financial activities and data to help resolve complex compliance issues. Using your keen eye for detail, you analyze and resolve anomalies for internal customers as well as monitor fund accounts for usage and trends. You also provide excellent communication and customer support for back-office operations to internal and external stakeholders.

Additionally, you collaborate with finance managers and other departmental heads on reporting and analysis. You collect, review, log, code, and submit all accounts payable invoices approved for payment by the finance manager. When issues arise regarding accounts payable, you conduct research to identify the problem, ensuring all financial and accounting processes you use comply with company and funder regulations. You also maintain accurate documentation for financial operations and negotiate rates or services with vendors to ensure optimal use of funds.

With your supervisor's approval, you prepare regular invoices to submit to program funders. You aid in managing credit and collections activities as well as assist with ad hoc reports, tools, or basic analysis to address financial trends and performance. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of accounting or auditing experience
  • Ability to make suggestions to management based on analyses
