Overview:
Daifuku Cleanroom Automation, the North American affiliate of Daifuku Japan Co., Ltd. and a dynamic high-tech company specializing in automated material handling systems, is currently seeking to fill the Fab Foreman 2 position.
Under the supervision of Project and Operations Management, Fab Foreman 2 is responsible for providing job site supervision of installation resources (subcontractors and Daifuku employees) to complete installation and upgrade of Daifuku AMHS equipment in a timely manner. Fab Foreman 2 is also responsible for meeting the install schedule by coordinating and planning the daily installation work. This position requires performing all Fab Foreman functions in the safest, highest quality, and most cost-efficient manner possible. Fab Foreman 2 must follow designated installation procedures and safety guidelines established for work areas. This position is required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, and travel as often as needed.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Supervise and oversee all installation resources (contractors and Daifuku employees) and ensure quality control.
2. Support Project Manager and/or Operations Manager in the project planning activities including installation schedule and resource plans.
3. Provide installation progress reports to Project Manager pertaining to quality checklists, redline drawings, schedule tracking, and resource issues, and ensure the job is completed on time.
4. Create redline drawings generated from the installation process and ensure any changes are submitted to Project Manager.
5. Follow all safety and protocol guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
6. Prepare paperwork including Pre-Task Plans prior to work.
7. Read mechanical and electrical drawings.
8. Communicate work expectations with the Project Manager/Operations Manager and co-workers on a daily basis and interact with the customer regularly.

Technical Ability:
- Builds storage and transportation systems from drawings and prints
- Takes product up through pre-Safety Level 1 and hand over to commissioning engineers
- Conducts troubleshooting when a conflict arises between drawings and build/layout
- Familiar with mechanical and electrical build phases of assigned project
- Large scope logistics and parts management, takes ownership of designated laydown areas
Leadership:
- Self-motivated - takes initiative
- Leads medium-large projects (mechanical or electrical scope)
- Must be able to work under pressure of customer and Project/Operations Manager(s) and complete tasks under tight time frame
Education:
High School Diploma/Associate Degree in Technical (Mechanical or Electrical) field is a plus
Certifications:
Technical certificate is a plus
KNOWLEDGE
(Equipment, Tools, Principles, Software, Math, etc.)
& EXPERIENCE
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Read and interpret build drawings and understand schematics
- Hex to decimal, binary to decimal conversion
- Robotics, network installation, scaffolding, and rigging
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
- Windows OS
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of technical (mechanical or electrical) supervision experience in the field
- Leading a crew of 10 or more or several small groups of subcontractors
- Prior construction, semiconductor tool installation, equipment installation, facilities, base building experiences (preferred)
- Working with diversity
- Use of mechanical and electrical tools
Promotion to Fab Foreman 3 Minimum Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience with CRUS
- Competent in and can supervise both mechanical and electrical scope of project
- Proficient in at least two product lines
- Performance Evaluation Rating of 3.0 or better for previous year
- Recommendation by supervisor or manager to Install Operations Management Team
