Job Description

COLSA Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer that will perform the following duties: Will serve on a small team of software developers who will be designing and building the ontologically-based Military Equipment Knowledge System (MEKS). Candidate will work under the direction of the Technical Lead to ensure MEKS contains and properly displays a comprehensive collection of military equipment, complete with their Characteristics and Performance parameters as well as how the individual pieces of equipment associate with other equipment. Candidate should have strong software development skills as well as a good grasp of systems-of-systems concepts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Collaborates to design, develop, test and implement MEKS software *
  • Documents work in a collaborative, online environment *
  • Advises on hardware acquisition requirements to support MEKS software
  • May advise hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems
  • May provide input for documentation of new or existing programs

Required Skills

Required Experience
  • Bachelors’ degree or higher in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related field.
  • Entry Level (0 years)
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL, ASP.Net and/or C#
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design and implementation of databases
  • Experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience in working with AWS
  • Currently active DoD Secret
