Job Description:

One of the largest ecommerce companies in the world is looking for a Graphic Designer (Education) to join their Product Experience team for a contract. The Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the team lead with the execution of physical and digital product documentation across packaging and site; Creating global technical and help center publications to meet customer needs throughout their learning journey. The Graphic Designer will leverage their expertise to help create complex device setup flows for a cohesive user education experience at scale.

You are an organized self-starter with experience working on established and successful global design systems in a scale-up environment. You bring an expertise of layout, typography, and press constraints to support complex device user education and manufacturing needs. You’re an effective collaborator—communicating and escalating blockers as required—to ship products on-time and on-brief. Above all, you are focused on solving real problems for real people through design, and iteration.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Design device user education assets for global technical and help center publications.
  • Maintain design guidelines for international regions to streamline and standardize product documentation.
  • Support the preparation of printed materials for press, working with production to verify proofs and confirm file accuracy.
  • Work closely with interdependent cross-functional teams
  • Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities by listening to others and valuing opinions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related design field or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience.
  • An online portfolio demonstrating success in effective user-centered design solutions.
  • 4+ years of experience building out templated design systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of human centered design principles and practice.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, synthesize feedback, present, and sell-through ideation.
  • Ability to multitask and complete projects on time and successfully by staying organized and efficient.
  • A complete understanding of all visual communications including typography, layout, and photo direction, as well as the ability to work with content strategy to create distinct solutions that solve for the user experience.
  • Illustration skills a plus

Please describe the team the TEMP will be joining. What projects do they work on? What is the team culture like?

  • Product experience (PX for short) – team of designers, engineers, writers, program managers working together to bring products to market
  • Handle packaging, inbox documentation, as well as slowly bringing into the digital space of help center
  • Team is very collaborative, open to helping one another, data driven team, a lot of testing to gather data, consistency is important for customers

Typical Day in the Role:

What will a typical day in the life of this role look like once the TEMP is ramped up?

  • Working closely with product managers and cross functional teams to find out install flow of the device, work on optimizing the flow with content team, lead reviews to ensure the flow is accurate, help illustrate the technical illustration would be great, lead designer is on the project so they will assist this person, helping with legal reviews
  • Design device user education assets for global technical and help center publications.
  • Maintain design guidelines for international regions to streamline and standardize product documentation.
  • Support the preparation of printed materials for press, working with production to verify proofs and confirm file accuracy.
