ABOUT THE ROLE

Jackson Spalding is a marketing agency for those with a genuine passion for their craft and a desire for continuous learning to grow personally and professionally. We are looking for a Studio Artist/Graphic Designer who has the five Cs that represent the foundation of our culture: character, class, confidence, chemistry and competency. We need self-starters ready to roll their sleeves up and dive headfirst into the work we create for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This person will work alongside teams of account managers, copywriters, art directors and digital strategists to:

• Meet with account teams, clients or the art director to determine the scope of a project
• Concept and execute social content under rapid deadlines
• Create images that identify a product or convey a message
• Develop brand elements such as logos, graphics and illustrations
• Create designs using the Adobe Creative Suite or by hand
• Present the design to clients or the art director
• Incorporate changes recommended by the clients into the final design

EDUCATION

• Minimum qualifications include: Associate’s degree or certificate of completion from a two-year program in graphic arts or equivalent on the job experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in graphic design

REQUIREMENTS

• Software skills include proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and other design-related programs
• Ability to extend design concepts across traditional and digital platforms
• Ability to create and code HTML emails is a big plus
• Basic level animation skills also a plus
• Extreme organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to short deadlines
• Strong, independent work ethic, takes direction well with minimal supervision, welcome constructive feedback
• Positive approach to finding solutions
