HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RESIDENT – DHIP ADMINISTRATION

The Duke Health Integrated Practice (DHIP) is a provider-led, cross-practice, and interdepartmental organization within Duke University Health System (DUHS) that is dedicated to advancing patient care and transforming the health of our communities. The Administrative Fellow will obtain a comprehensive understanding of DHIP and its strategic initiatives through shadowing leaders within DHIP and other Duke Health entities. In addition to structured rotations, the Administrative Fellow will work on projects to support the current strategic initiatives and organizational needs.

JOB DUTIES

  • Rotate through clinical and administrative departments of DHIP and other Duke Health entities to obtain a comprehensive understanding of DHIP and its strategic initiatives.
  • Complete department-specific projects in each rotation, gaining a broad understanding of all areas of DHIP’s administration and hone future area of focus.
  • Prepare ongoing marketing and recruitment materials to ensure continued excellence of the Administrative Fellowship program and expand the geographic reach.
  • Attend and participate in meetings by preparing materials, summarizing key points and distributing appropriately.
  • Analyze information for current initiatives and summarize into a high-level presentation for various projects.
  • Manage projects from start to finish within specific areas of focus and create solutions with lasting impact.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work requires organizational, analytical and communication skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program in a business or healthcare-related field. A master’s degree in a business, healthcare, or public health related field is also required.
  • Prior internship or work experience in a healthcare setting is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced ability to effectively analyze information in a useful way
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Foundational knowledge in the core competencies of healthcare administration
  • Working experience of Tableau and Visio is preferred
