Ever wanted to ship amazing experiences in Apple products? Be part of the engineering team that uses sensor signal processing to produce the next generation of human interfaces for iPhone, iPad, AirPods, Macs and more! Our group comes from a diverse set of backgrounds in signal and image processing, statistics, machine learning, controls, physics, neuroscience and human factors. We seek a manager to lead a small group of hardworking engineers, and work across the company with a wide range of others over a full product cycle. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the development process, and for delivering key product features on time and with high quality. To lead the team optimally, you will draw deeply on your technical background. To represent the team well, you will also need sufficient engineering breadth to have productive conversations with firmware and software teams, hardware technology teams, mechanical engineers, designers, and many other specialists.

  • Algorithm design for classification, filtering, signal processing or control
  • Analyzing and presenting complex data
  • Working with an embedded or resource-constrained system, and with C or C++
  • Electrical engineering and hardware design
  • Machine learning

Description

We would prefer candidates who have experience managing at least a small team for several years. We would like to hear specific, detailed examples of ways you have broken complex problems into manageable pieces. We would love to learn about projects where you have combined all the vital parts to complete and ship a product. We will look for candidates who are able to communicate complex topics to people from a variety of backgrounds and technical abilities, and adapt their speech and writing to different audiences.

Education & Experience

M.S. or Ph.D. in EE, CS, ME, mathematics, physics, or another engineering or technical field

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,000 and $299,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
