Job Description

We are looking for a driven, continuous learner, and relationship-focused Human Resources Manager to support our growing team. The HR Manager is an individual contributor and is responsible for managing and delivering upon the day-to-day HR needs of the business.


This ideal candidate has experience managing the HR function, and that has the breadth of experience to support a growing business, is able to drive progress and navigate ambiguity. This individual operates to provide both day to day support to employees and leaders and serves as a coach and consultant in supporting longer term team development and cultural strategies.


At Silver Maple we consider our HR department to be a part of our benefits package. The HR Manager will often be called upon to act as a concierge and guide our employees through policies, insurance navigation and other processes that can be challenging for our busy team, many of whom are out on job sites and not in the office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the day to day needs of the team as it relates to general HR questions, interpretation and application of policies and benefits management.
  • Plans and delivers on all core HR processes and initiatives related to talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, culture, development, compensation and benefits.
  • Manages and leverages the HR Information System to encourage self-service, efficiency, and provide data driven recommendations.
  • Manages employee relations issues, providing guidance and recommendations to leaders.
  • Provides guidance and input on workforce planning, succession, and talent development needs.
  • Possess confidence, courage, and an ability to challenge the status quo to express a different point of view and to communicate at multiple levels.
  • Is willing and able to research, develop, create, and implement HR strategies and practices catering to our business needs.
  • Supports current and future business needs through collaboration with business leaders focusing on development, engagement, motivation, and retention of people.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop relationships and establish credibility and trust.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Superior attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills, with ability to multitask.
  • Experience successfully navigating a complex environment utilizing strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage and implement companywide programs, processes, and initiative, ensuring proper communication and effective change management, independently and successfully.
  • Excellent active listening, consultative, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates a healthy balance of people orientation, drive for results, and analytical skills.
  • Construction or related industry experience is helpful, though not required.
  • Experience with working in and managing HRIS platforms.


Physical Requirements:
Standing/sitting for 4-8 hours per day, the ability to work on a computer 4-6 hours per day. Occasionally lift a weight of up to 20 pounds.
