Job Description

General Function:

As a vital member of the Human Resources team, the HRIS Specialist has primary accountability for the administration of HRIS systems and the metrics dashboard, working closely with key staff members to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support effective technology solutions for HR processes that reduce the administrative burden. This position is a great fit for someone with an IT skill set who desires an opportunity in the Human Resources field. Provides overall administrative support to the HR department.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the administration of the HRIS system and serves as the technical point-of-contact in all HR functions reliant upon HRIS data and report generation.
  • Maintains expert user knowledge of HRIS system(s) including the payroll/timekeeping system and compliance management software.
  • Ensures data integrity and system accuracy for all HRIS systems through regular audits, recognizing data problems or inconsistencies and implementing solutions for corrective action to resolve issues and prevent reoccurrences.
  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users and ensures compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Enters new employee information into the payroll/timekeeping system and credentials/certifications into the compliance management software.
  • Responsible for all HR records management including correspondence, credentialing and personnel files in paper and electronic form as applicable, performing regular audits for accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a business related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is required. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources working with HRIS, payroll/timekeeping systems and performing administrative duties is required. IT experience and/or background helpful.
  • Highly proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have the ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in order to meet established schedules, timelines, or deadlines with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity.
  • Ability to maintain employee confidentiality.
  • Possesses a neat and professional appearance.

The HRIS Specialist is a non- exempt hourly position and is full-time Monday – Friday, no evenings, weekends, or holidays.
