Description

SAIC is looking for an experienced Internal Communications Strategist to join our team! This individual will provide insightful, informed and strategic communications expertise to senior leaders. This is a 100% remote position.

As an internal communications strategist, you can expect your role to typically involve some or all the following:

  • Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with senior communication and functional leaders
  • Ensure internal communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision
  • Draft multi-channel communications plans/campaigns, write and edit content, and execute the release plan
  • Write content for a variety of communications channels, including digital, print, speeches, reports, presentations, newsletters, and videos
  • Contribute to the editorial calendar, ensuring it is kept up to date
  • Storyboard or translate ideas from inception to launch
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages and branding
  • Partner with the social media team to communicate with employees
  • Support delivery of presentations at organizational events, town halls and conferences
  • Draft messages or scripts for senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for various departments of the organization
  • Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communication
  • Help manage SAIC’s weekly news cycle through various channels by sourcing news from internal customers
  • Support special communications projects for the team, such as awards shows and leader events

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or marketing is an advantage, though other degrees are often acceptable. A minimum of ten years of experience. Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Writing skills: You need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. Strong knowledge of AP Style.

Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with communications and other corporate departments. You also need to possess the confidence to work with senior executives prepping them for presentations and explaining communication techniques to them.

Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential.


Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
