Junior Software Engineer

Reports to: Senior Software Engineer

Department: Software Engineering

Exempt Status: Exempt, Full-Time

Location: Austin, TX or Santa Barbara, CA (remote available after 6 months)

Job Summary:

The Junior Software Engineer is to produce and implement functional software solutions under the direction of leaders and will work independently with needed supervision, have excellent organization and problem-solving skills. The goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Using the latest cloud technologies and database platforms to build complex applications that are blazing fast and highly-scalable
  • Working with the business team to develop new and better ways to solve problems in the real estate, lending, and closing-services industry
  • Integrating with third-party products and APIs
  • Being hands-on in all aspects of software development.

Qualifications:

  • Either a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field OR practical working experience commensurate with requirements
  • 1-3 years experience with Javascript, React, node, C#, .NET framework, python, and/or PHP (demonstrated on resume)
  • 1-2 years of practical experience with a database platform (demonstrated on resume)
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of web applications
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns
  • Careful, meticulous, and detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for successful team working.
