About White Knoll Veterinary Hospital & Pet Resort is an AAHA Accredited Animal Hospital since 2013. This means we are held to a higher standard of care for our guess. This is something that our staff has worked very hard towards and are very passionate about. All employees will be expected to complete the phase training and read, understand and follow the SOP. Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Summary: The ideal candidate would be able to work the front desk and be a kennel attendant but, not mandatory. (where you bet fit) The primary duty of this position is caring for the pets/guess that are staying at the Pet Resort , as well as the pets that come for doggy day care and grooming.

Front Desk Receptionist: responsible for performing clerical tasks within an office setting to support daily operations. Their duties include answering phone calls, make boarding and grooming appointment, and greeting visitors during in checking in. Also be require to work with a computer and be able to work at cash register.

Kennel Attendant: provide care and the basic needs of animals that are being groomed, boarded, or participating in doggie day camp are including cleaning of kennels, runs and ward areas, laundry, walking, and proper feeding, medicating and ensuring a safe environment while dogs are in group play.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle animals as required.

Report Cards notes input.

Walk dogs and oversee play groups several times a day to provide exercise and time for elimination.

Provide care for animals housed/visiting the resort. Report signs of illness, disease, injury or unusual activity to medical staff.

Ensure that Resort and animals are properly numbered and identified and that personal property (toys, treats, blankets, leashes) are stored in the proper area identified.

Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, runs and stalls as often as is necessary to ensure no kennels are soiled and odors are not apparent.

Perform general cleaning in other areas of the resort to control the spread of disease. Wash and sterilize water and food bowls.

Launder and dry towels and blankets.

Patrol resort grounds daily, picking up and trash and stool material. Empty trash.

Record information such as feeding schedules, appearance, behavior of animals that are boarded, groomed or hospitalized.

Work well with all employees and ensure that your actions support the resorts philosophy.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services - This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar

Performance Measurements: Performance will be evaluated at the end of the initial 90 day introductory period and every 6 months thereafter. Performance will be evaluated based upon the following: attendance, punctuality, dependability, job performance, client care, teamwork, and progress of job knowledge.

Frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit communicate, and listen, frequently working in a bent position.

Frequently use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms.

Use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active animals.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally handle dogs weighing up to and over 150 pounds.

Help assistance groomers time to time when needed.

Other:Resort Staff members must possess good critical thinking and problem solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through and excellent communication and teamwork skills you must be able to work with people as well as pets. Multitasking and accepting constructive criticism is essential. Punctuality and attendance is expected.

This job description does not necessarily cover every task or duty that might be assigned. There may be additional responsibilities assigned as necessary.

Availability Needs: WKVH may operate between 7:00 am-11:59pm Monday through Sunday. At this time, a full time position availability requirements may vary. This full time position will hold up to 40 hours a week and schedule may vary.

  • 4 – 6 hour shift (part time)
  • 8 hour shift (full time)
  • 10 hour shift (full time)
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekend – full time employees are required to work 3 weekends a month and every holidays.

Reports To: Lead Kennel Assistant, Kennel Supervisor, Practice Manager

Hourly Wage: Negotiable based on experience, Students have a 90 day training wage.
