Currently we are looking for a qualified individual to work as a Laboratory Assistant 3 – 2nd Shift with our direct client in Newport News, VA.

***This is Onsite Position***

***This is 2nd Shift Work Schedule job, Second Shift 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday **NO WEEKENDS** **NO HOLIDAYS***

Responsibility:

• Sorts, labels, and logs specimens and performs testing procedures in accordance with strict procedures.
• Sorts and logs specimens, centrifugation, blood separations, and culture materials.
• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture to collect specimens from patients.
• Performs testing such as separating and centrifuging specimens, adding reagents to specimens, staining slides, tissue cultures, and DNA probe assays.
• Transcribes and records test results.
• Operates sterilizing equipment to decontaminate glassware.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years experience.
• Work Independently
