POSITION OVERVIEW


The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for creating and implementing innovative, interactive, and engaging learning and development programs that promote the growth and development of Members. The Learning and Development Manager will work closely with departmental managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify training needs, develop, and deliver captivating training programs, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Develop and implement creative, engaging, and interactive learning and development programs that align with the Company’s goals and objectives, with a focus on enhancing guest service and Member engagement
  • Partner with departmental managers to identify training needs for all Members, including, supervisors, and managers
  • Design and deliver exciting and tailored training programs that reflect the unique and exclusive needs of the luxury resort environment, using a mix of learning methods, including classroom instruction, online learning, and hands-on training
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using surveys, assessments, and feedback from managers and Members, and use this data to continuously improve programs and delivery methods
  • Manage the learning management system and other training technologies to ensure training materials are current, accessible, and user-friendly
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, industry associations, and guest service experts to integrate the latest best practices and insights into training programs
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to develop and execute career development plans for members and provide ongoing coaching and support to help them achieve their goals
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of training and development to managers and Members to encourage participation in training programs and ensure alignment with resort's culture and values
  • Work with other People functions to ensure a seamless and consistent Member experience
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, human resources, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in Learning and Development and/or Human Resources for a large-scale luxury resort/casino
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs that are interactive, engaging, and tailored to the environment and service expectations
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver to deadlines
  • Proven experience in facilitating and presenting information in one-on-one, small and large group settings
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to use data and insights to drive decision-making
  • Proficiency in learning management systems and other training technologies, as well as a keen interest in staying abreast of new developments in the field
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design, with a focus on developing programs that are relevant, practical, and user-friendly
  • A passion for luxury hospitality and service, and a commitment to building a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and delivering exceptional service in the luxury resort environment.
  • Ability to process confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

This job supervises Learning and Development Specialists.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
