Job overview

As our Industrial Maintenance Technician you will maintain equipment and buildings in all of our facilities. This position will include repairing and maintaining fan coil units, ventilation, conveyors, and carousels, forklifts, packaging equipment, and general maintenance repairs. This is the first level of the Maintenance technician series. While the list below is not exhaustive of all you would do, we’ve captured the main pieces. Here are the specifics:

  • Maintains, Services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment.
  • Preforms a variety of semiskilled duties in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or painting.
  • Assists maintenance engineers and other workers with their tasks.
  • Maintenance of all fulfillment equipment including conveyors, carousels, forklifts and packaging equipment and all vehicles.
  • Drive Speedway vehicles to various locations.
  • Perform and maintain preventative maintenance as scheduled.
  • Follow established safety procedures at all times.
  • Constantly work to improve processes; make suggestions for productivity improvements, and optimize team member workflow, while continuing to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Work Environment

The positions will work in house and at many of our buildings in Lincoln, NE. You’ll work in a heated and cooled environment with occasionally working in an outdoor environment.

Physical requirements include the following:

  • Frequent pinching, grasping, fine manipulation with fingers.
  • Constant walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending/reaching, twisting, kneeling, squatting.
  • Working at a height 40’ in a lift.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs., rarely lift < 75 pounds, occasionally carry <50 lbs. and rarely push/pull up to 100 lbs.

What you’ll need to succeed in this position:

  • Associates degree in Technology or Maintenance Engineering preferred with a minimum of 6 months of related experience or equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • Possess a general understanding of aspects of the area.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language to read technical manuals, blueprints and various maintenance and repair documents.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with all levels of the organization, vendors, and other internal and external individuals.
  • Strong technical skills including plumbing, mechanical, facility maintenance and construction.
  • Must be able to use a computer.
  • Requires thorough in your diagnostic and work and have excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of maintenance operations and familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
