The Manager, Trade Marketing – Spirits, Whiskey will assist the lead to establish the commercial brand standards and guidelines for their brand group, aligning with the overall brand strategy and image. This is a tactically-oriented role, focused on interpreting the brand strategy and applying consumer, customer, shopper and category insights to build commercially relevant brand program concepts that deliver business objectives. The Prestige Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for executing brand events in the region (non-premise events) and stewarding brand standards, in collaboration with demand creation team, in account-based activations.

Commercial Brand Guidelines And Program Hooks

  • Work closely with Brand teams to translate brand strategy and platform into commercial brand standards & tactical guidelines, including guiding principles for distribution by channel or subchannel
  • Create core brand commercial program ideas, producing materials that include event/activation inspiration, mood boards, supporting consumer insights, and guidelines for off/on-premise activation (for use by Subchannel Program Development teams to develop fully-fleshed out and granular program playbooks by customer subchannel/subsegment)
  • Create and update reference sheets for MH sellers describing heritage, craftsmanship, portfolio, and Perfect Serve for brands and products in portfolio
  • Engage and oversee 3rdparty agencies as needed to support with the ideation and creation of materials

Regional Brand Events And Programs

  • Oversee 3-5 in-market team members who responsible for concepting and executing brand events for the region
  • Maintain central event calendar for the brand group and performance recap repository, with inputs from in-market team members
  • Oversee development & execution of brand events/activations via in-market teams, for activations outside of MH accounts, in line with brand strategy and standards.


PROFILE

Internal Relationship Management

  • Collaborate closely with Brand team to translate latest brand strategies and positioning into commercial guidelines and program hooks; Serve as the liaison point between Brand and the Commercial organization
  • Collaborate closely with relevant Subchannel Program Development Leads to communicate brand guidelines and ensure subchannel playbooks and programs are in line with Brand strategy
  • Work with Consumer Insights to distill and incorporate consumer trends in the channel into brand program hooks

Communication

  • Primary liaison between brand and regional sales teams
  • Share best practice information with other Brand Group Experience teams, Consumer Experience teams, and brands within the MH Portfolio
  • Infuse local expertise & knowledge of the region into brand plans for tailored and localized approach
  • Develop an expert knowledge of competitive market activity to build plans with competitive advantage

Timeliness

  • Set timeline targets to complete projects, chart progress and ongoing review progress 3mos, 6mos, 9mos. to achieve stakeholder expectations

  • Recap performance and progress with supervisor and team on a regular basis

Job Dimensions:

  • Collaborate internal working relationships with Subchannel Consumer Experience Leads, Brand team, and Demand Creation & Activation team
  • Facilitate alignment and agreement across a variety of internal and external groups with potentially conflicting interests

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years of marketing or creative marketing experience in consumer-packaged goods, luxury environment, and / or subchannel
  • Strong business/commercial strategy experience. Strong sales experience with strategic orientation or strong marketing experience with commercial orientation, field marketing, planning, communications and influencing skills
  • Experience working within the beverage alcohol & three-tier system is a plus, but not required
  • Strong analytical skills with desire to work with information systems and digital platforms
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization/project management capabilities
  • Project Management skills, cross-functional team player with a proactive mindset

Salary ranges between $85K-$115K
