Work shift (days/times) - M-F (40 hours per week)
Work Location - Round Lake, IL
Shift: 1st Shift
Summary:
  • Must not be allergic to Cephalosporins or Penicillin.
  • This position is responsible supporting the execution of projects for manufacturing equipment and manufacturing processes. This position will work under the direct supervision of a validation engineer and/or manufacturing supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for set up, start up, operation, and tear down of manufacturing equipment (filling equipment, packaging machines, and production tanks) needed for validation execution.
  • Responsible performing tasks related to drug formulation, weighing, cleaning the complex, tanks, equipment, filter integrity testing, and completing documentation necessary for traceability to specifications and procedures.
  • Responsible for building embossing, issuing ports, cleaning pressure vessels for studies or runs.
  • Responsible for responding to alarm conditions, documenting data into records, performing air volume, filling volume testing, adjusting during the run. May be required to perform intermediate level maintenance on equipment in conjunction with a trained mechanic.
  • Responsible for performing container testing, which include seal integrity testing, burst testing, tensile strength testing, and closure force testing.
  • Responsible for cross functional coordination with personnel such as manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and laboratories.
  • Work Environment: Work with pressurized equipment, work with hot surfaces, wet environment, work with chemicals and drug compounds. May require the individual to pick up materials up to 50 lbs. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment, which may include PAPR equipment. Some work may be required to be performed during off-shift or weekend hours.



Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and ability to interact successfully in teams.
  • Requires strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures, specifications, and job-specific training materials.
  • Ability to receive training from several departments, such as maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering.
  • Proficient Use of Computers
  • Adherence to site's attendance policy
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma required with 3 or more years of experience/Associates degree or 2-year technical degree with 2 or more years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
