Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: To provide specialized technical skills or diversified clerical duties associated with medical record procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Process requests for release of confidential information for all purposes.

Analyzes complex data for completeness and accuracy.

Performs specialized and diversified clerical duties associated with medical record procedures.

Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs related duties as required

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Associates Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent. Prior medical records experience is preferred.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.

*This is a contract position through UTMB HealthCare Systems Staffing (the in-house staffing agency for UTMB). There are no benefits associated with this position.*
