Job Description

Identify purchasing opportunities (long term & spot ) with suppliers to meet the mills usage demand and production need.

Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and market analysis.

Monitor supply and demand activity for key commodities and conduct accurate supply chain forecasts.

Create strategic alignment and support for targeted initiatives throughout the organization.

Ensure risk management and business interruption processes are in place for the entire supply chain.

Keep informed of economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets, prices, and delivery conditions.

Monitor performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Act as a liaison in dealings among suppliers/mills/internal departments when necessary.

Lead Daily/weekly/monthly communication with mills for the production needs.

Travel to visit suppliers and paper mills.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Business related fields or equivalent technical education and/or proven work experience

Knowledge of paper grades

Minimum 1-3 years of experience at waste paper trading, paper mill buying experience a plus

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, comprehensive negotiation skill

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to think strategically about the organization while executing tactically in support of the strategy.

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office tools

Competencies: detail orientated, managerial courage, problem solving, organizational skills
